This is a perfect recipe for busy people. It will cook all day while you are at work or busy getting ready for a romantic dinner for two! The recipe is for two people but can be increased for a crowd.

What you will need:

4 x large lamb shanks

 1 onion

4 cloves garlic

1 tin of diced tomatoes

Cooking with Oils: Lamb Shanks in Red Wine and Chilli 1

1/4 bottle of red wine

Chilli flakes (to taste)

Salt and pepper

Rosemary Essential Oil

Method:

Lightly brown the lamb shanks in a frying pan. 

Cooking with Oils: Lamb Shanks in Red Wine and Chilli

 

Chop the onion and garlic and place on the bottom of a slow cooker.

Place the lamb on top of the onion and add the tinned tomatoes, red wine, chilli flakes and salt and pepper. 

Cook on low heat for 9-10 hours or high heat for 5-6 hours.

About 30 minutes before serving add 2 drops of Rosemary Essential Oil to the slow cooker and mix around. 

Serve with fresh vegetables and mashed potato, rice or couscous.
