Why not give your family a treat for Christmas with these delicious biscuits?

This a recipe from Mum’s Recipe book and one that she loved! She was a wonderful cook and made lots of tasty treats for Christmas.

Mum’s Recipe Book

What you will need:

250 grams chilled, cubed butter

1/2 cup icing sugar

2 cups plain flour

1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon

(I add 1 drop of Cinnamon Bark Essential Oil to the mix)

Approximately 2 tablespoons  extra icing sugar and 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon for decorating the biscuits.

Method:

Cream the butter and icing sugar until creamy.

Mix in the flour and cinnamon until a dough is formed.

Knead the dough, adding extra flour if required. Place in a bowl and cover.

Keep the dough in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.

Roll the dough out to 1 cm thickness and cut out heart shapes.

Bake the biscuits at 180 C for about 10-15 min until slightly brown.

Allow to cool for about 3-4 minutes on the tray.

When the biscuits are cold, dust them with the combined extra icing sugar and cinnamon.
