I must admit I have never been one for spending a lot of money on makeup, let alone its removal. The removal products on the market are not cheap!

But when I started making my own health and beauty products, I found that it was so easy to make my own removal pads that I make them and use them all the time now!

What you will need:

A 500 ml jar with a tight-fitting lid (I use an old candle jar with a fitted lid)

Cotton rounds (you can use disposal ones but why not invest in some reusable ones to help the environment)

2 x tablespoons of pure aloe vera gel

6 x teaspoons of witch hazel

Make up remover pads 3

1 x tablespoon of liquid castile soap

2 x teaspoons fractionated coconut oil (or your favorite skin-cleansing oil)

8-12 drops each of skin-soothing Lavender and Frankincense Oils

6-8 drops of Rosemary Oil

Make up remover pads 1

Method:

Combine everything other than the pads in a jar or measuring cup and mix well.

Add a pad to the storage jar and pour a few drops of your mixture onto the pad. Continue this way until the jar is full of pads.

Pour any remaining liquid over the top of the pads and place the lid on firmly.

Make up remover pads 2

Use:

Use a cotton round to wipe your makeup off.

Your storage jar of pads should stay moist for up to 1-2 months.

If you need to take the pads with you when you travel, they keep well for a few weeks in a small clip lock bag or a small jar.
