How complicated is your life? Are you a busy, busy person and loving it or one who is dreaming of living a simple life? Whether you are living alone or with others, the health of your household is impacted by the amount of time you have to relax, spend time with loved ones and to take care of your general health.
Taking a simple approach to your life is, in my experience a healthy way to go. I know when my family was young and we were busy doing the school run together with the sport, dancing and other activities etc that my health and the care of the house itself was put last and so the ‘household’ suffered. My life is much calmer now and we have consciously made a decision to live a simple life. In fact the pandemic helped with this – we were forced to be at home, to spend time together and to think about our lives and how we wanted to live them.
But what do I mean by a simple life? See below for a few of my ideas about simple living:
Simple Living:
- thinking about the health of your actual house – what chemicals are you using on your body, to wash your clothes, to clean your house and in your garden,
- thinking about the materials in your house – are they natural or are you surrounded by plastics?
- finding a job that you love rather than settling for something that just pays the bills,
- spending time outside the house as much as possible (in the garden or going for walks, picnics etc.),
- growing your own veggies, herbs and flowers and spending time tending the garden
- cooking your own food and eating simply,
- making time for fun,
- keeping a simple exercise routine,
- decluttering your life – that mean clearing out the actual clutter or moving on from the people that are causing you problems,
- Saying no to people who want you to be busy all the time.
You may have other ideas that suit you better because your household is different to mine but at the same time – it involves people and people need care!!! I am now living the simple life and very much benefiting from it. Getting from complicated to simple was not easy. In fact it took me almost a lifetime. But it doesn’t have to be that way for you – we can show you the way.
