3 Tips on Maintaining A Healthy Balance in Life: Tip #1 Take time for family and yourself! 10

Do you use Essential Oils in your daily life? There are so many oils and so many ways to use them so it can be confusing and difficult to know where to start. This post will outline 5 simple ways that you can use Essential Oils to develop Healthy Habits in your household.

1.Daily Wake Up Routine

5 Healthy Habits Using Essential Oils

How do you wake up – grumpy, sleepy or ready to go? I am very lucky that most days I am ready to jump out of bed. But we all have those slow mornings don’t we? Most of us will reach for the caffeine to get us going. But, why not reach for something much better for you? Try using Peppermint Essential Oil to get you going. I have Peppermint oil in a roller ball bottle next to my bed and after a swipe on my temples and behind my ears I am ready to go! I use a few other oils for my morning routine too. Here is what I use to start the day:

    • Peppermint Essential Oil to wake up and clear the nose if needed.
    • Lavender Essential Oil on my temples if necessary to soothe tension
    • Basil Oil around my ears to ward off any ear problems ( I swim regularly and I am always careful about ear health)
    • Balance Essential Oil ( a grounding blend) rolled on my feet to help me balance the demands of the day,
    • Peace Essential Oil on my wrists – to provide that sense of peace and harmony and,
    • Some Rose Essential Oil over my heart

Of course You may only have one or two oils in your kit. If I was asked which of the oils listed above that I would take anywhere with me i.e. the ones I can’t do without, I would say the Lavender and Peppermint!

2. Beauty Routine

I am not talking makeup here, I am talking the great things you can do to keep your skin clean and healthy. The key tip I would like to give you is to stay away from commercial cleaners and moisturisers. They are full of unnecessary chemicals that you just don’t need or want in your body. Don’t forget, what ever goes on your skin is absorbed into the body. So keep it pure and use simple, natural ingredients and Essential Oils for your skin routine. Why not read our post ‘ Personal Health and Beauty the Safer Way: Care for that body!‘ to find out how easy it is to keep it pure?

And as well as that, we have just written a post on how to combat dry skin. Give that one a read too!

3.Hydrating

A simple way to incorporate Essential Oils in your life is to just add a drop of a citrus Essential oil into your water each day. Use a glass or stainless steel bottle for this. I use either Lemon or Wild Orange Essential Oils. It freshens up the water and I find it encourages me to drink more. Citrus oils are great to give you a boost i.e. they are uplifting.

4.Diffusing

How to Diffuse Essential Oils for Health and Well being 10

I diffuse Essential Oils every day around my house to purify the air and provide a delightful working and living environment. You can choose the Oils to suit your mood or physical state i.e. you may need something lift and energise you or you may be needing something to soothe away the tension of the day. I used to burn candles to create a soothing atmosphere in the evening. But of course candles are perfumed with artificial scents and are burning off toxic chemicals into the air around your house. Try diffusing Essential Oils instead. Why not read our post on  ‘How to Diffuse Essential Oils for Health & Wellbeing’ to get your started?
