We have been writing about healthy households for most of this year. We thought it might be time to recap and bring it all together for you. So here are our 10 tips for healthy households with links back to some of our posts this year:
Tip #1 A healthy household is one where everyone’s physical, social, emotional and spiritual well-being are considered and looked after. Make sure that you and your family get the exercise you need, eat well, have enough sleep, time to play and talk to each other and develop good relationships!
Tip #2 The joy of cooking is in the journey. Share that journey with your family and household to great positive memories that will last a life time. I learned to cook at my mother’s knee and she inspired me to be adventurous with my cooking and to recognize the value of home cooking.
Tip #3 Be careful of food fads and diets – balance is the key when it comes to healthy eating.
Tip #4 Detox your house for a better future. Replace your cleaning products and personal health products with simple DIY products to reduce the toxic load in your home. Using Essential Oils will help with this.
Tip #5 Don’t be afraid of technology to assist you in your home. But, be discerning and smart about which tech you embrace.
Tip #6 Turn your family differences into strengths. Listen to each other and don’t avoid problems; rather work them out together.
Tip #7 Exercise more for both physical and mental health. Try swimming, walking and yoga for a healthy mix to promote well-being!
Tip #8 Be proactive not reactive in life and gain control over your health, finance, well-being etc.
Tip #9 Listen to your heart when making family and household decisions. Don’t let the negative voices out there influence your life choices.
Tip #10 Essential Oils Can Change Your World!! Try using them in your cooking, cleaning products, to help you sleep, to cheer you up, to reduce stress and improve the whole atmosphere in your home!
We hope you have enjoyed reading our posts this year and that you will continue to join us at Helpful by Nature – because we are still writing! We would love you to subscribe to our email list so that we can your questions and provide answers if we are able.
Until next time,
Gillian (and Andrew)
